Tonight’s BBC South Today News covered
for the third time the Pru’s new mega depot application at Pyestock.
Media attention is growing as more and more local residents realise the
potential negative impact of this scheme. There are now over 3,500
objections and they continue to arrive.
The News coverage included:
-
The
Houses of Parliament could fit twice into just one of the sheds,
potentially one of the largest buildings in the Country
-
Thousands of HGVs from the depot
would serve supermarkets from Cornwall to Kent operating 24 hours a
day x 7 days a week
-
There would be 1,600 jobs and
‘improved road links’ – we know this will result in a massive
increase of in-commuting causing further congestion on our local
infrastructure and further overheating our local economy.
Replacing a busy roundabout with traffic signals and adding a major
roundabout to the Ively Road are not road improvements!
-
Our two local MPs, James Arbuthnot
and Gerald Howarth are not convinced by these so-called improvements
and have already objected for the second time
-
James is concerned it is one of
the largest developments the Country has seen. He was not surprised
that there had been thousands of objections
-
Gerald is concerned about the need
to protect the Strategic Gap thus preventing a massive conurbation
stretching from Camberley to Fleet
If you have still to object then act
today! |
