Latest News: 29/04/09: Mega Depot decision due by early June |

We have been informed that the Planning Inspector has passed her report to the Secretary of State for final review. The anticipated decision announcement date is the 28th May, but this may be delayed until after 4th of June due to the county council elections.
Whilst we remain optimistic about the decision to refuse a massive 24x7 mega depot, we would seek legal review of the decision should it not be in our favour. There would be local, regional and national sustainability objectives undermined by the proposed massive ‘road only’ mega depot at Pyestock North.
A separate planning application has recently been submitted for two computer data centres and 22 business units of various sizes totalling about 21,000 m2 at Pyestock South. The business park location is on the south side of New Ively Road, adjacent to Cody Technology Park. Previously the developer (Kenmore) was expecting a new Warburton’s bakery and distribution centre to form part of the site, but Warburton withdrew their interest last year click here > As a result, there will be less of a traffic impact and SPLAT does not plan to contest the development. If you are interested the planning application is available on the hart.gov.uk website click here > |
