Latest News: 23/06/07: Over 3,000 objections with material issues being raised

Our concerned residents campaign continues to gain strength from the amount and quality of objections received.  There are now over 3,000 formal objections to the new plan.  This is great news and thanks to all who share our concerns.

We believe even more people will realise the impact this proposal will bring when they consider that key national and regional Statutory Consultees are now objecting or raising material issues based on the new substantiated information we have discovered.

  Mega deport

Pyestock would be slightly smaller than this mega depot.

Just one shed in this photo takes delivery of an HGV every 45 seconds during its peak period.

  • Highways Agency: Air quality issues

  • Hampshire County Council: Highways Department re-appraising application (based on new substantiated information which challenges the Pru’s understated proposal)

  • Environment Agency: objection, risk of surface water flooding

  • Natural England (English Nature): objection and recommends refusal due to potential impact on legally protected wildlife

  • South East England Regional Assembly (SEERA): further assessment required

    • Impact on Special Protection Area (SPA)

    • Flood Risk

    • Adverse impact on Strategic Gap

    • Potential of developing freight facilities on more sustainable sites, as the proposal does not support regional policy

Parishes: Increased HGV traffic

  • Crookham Village, Eversley, Odiham, Blackwater and Hawley: HGVs traffic impact, etc.

  • Fleet & Church Crookham Planning Advisory Group (10 June website article)
