Latest News: 21/05/07: Over 1,000 objections received and local press coverage

The local press from Yateley to Aldershot have been covering the new plan.  The article referred to 800 objections received - within a couple of days there were over 1,000 objections!  Impressive in the first couple of weeks, well done!

If you have not already objected to the new plan then please hurry or you may miss the closing date.

We are starting to receive online donations to our fighting fund via the website and would like to publicly thank people for their support and long may it continue.

The news article can be read in full by clicking here and here are some of the points raised:

  • The developer is now suggesting 50 HGV movements per hour during the night, an average of one every 72 seconds

  • We are not against all development for the site, but a massive 24 hours per day mega depot is not sustainable

  • The site would be lit up like an airport and the light visible for miles around

  • We challenge the Pru on their historical traffic generation figures

  • We would support the Pru if they threaten their legal fallback position and rebuild the existing low density Research and Development buildings instead of the proposed mega depot

  • More objections to the Pru’s original plan were received after their misleading exhibition than before

Mega deport lit up at night

A Mega depot lit up like an airport at night – think of the impact to

Fleet Pond and the surrounding area
