Latest News: 18/09/09: We will challenge the Secretary of State’s decision in the High Court

Our Barrister has confirmed our view that we have strong grounds and should challenge the decision of the Secretary of State at the High Court in London. We are also pursuing the case with the European Commission as we believe Natural England breached its own guide lines and European Law.

Were it not for an anonymous person at the office of the Secretary of State overturning the Planning Inspector's decision this inappropriate proposal would have been rejected.

We faced cross-examination by one of the best QCs in the country and still convinced the Planning Inspector to recommend refusal.

Our local MPs are also actively supporting our cause click here >

Employment

We are not against jobs, far from it, the site actually equates to over 60% of employment land in Hart. It is a once in a life time opportunity for suitable employment which would attract local residents. This would go a long way to address the major local commuting issue, 2.5 times more people commuting out of or into Hart on a daily basis than actually live and work here.

The mega depot would result in the closure of existing distribution centres with the associated loss of jobs. There would also be a reduction of overall jobs because of the economies of scale, here is an example of the scale of a mega shed click here >

Fighting Fund
We continue to build the Pyestock Fighting Fund and have already reached 70% of the required amount to fight the case in the High Court.
